Just wondering if anyone knows how to tell what year/model there engine is, with nothing else but the engine number??? it is a 4k, need to know cause i have been told that there are 4 different gasket kits, for them! please any help will be great

Ah.. Strange. I am not familiar with engine dates? As I don't know if there is any.. but I could be wrong. I know there is an engine number. Are you sure there are 4 different gasket kits? If there is 4 different ones, maybe they just come with either different material or different stuff in the kits..

 

 

Though I could be wrong.

if you get no love on here and really want to know I can get in touch with the owner

who did the conversion and see what he knows. He didnt know shit about rollas though

so might be tough.

Unfortunately they were put in Corolla's (the most likely source) from about 1976 to about 1984. KE5x- KE70 models.

 

That's about as close as you'll get with the info provided.

As well as in LIte-aces, fork lifts, starlets, and Daihatsu Charmants! But yes most likely a corolla of some sort.

Theres a piece in the FAQ about early and late 4k's and their differences. Can't quite find it at the mo...have a look there

Well we are in Australia so you can rule out starlets and charmants if your in Aust.
