I'm IN!!!

we could have stickers and t-shirts and everything!!!

Now that means i'll have to set my T18 up for race... darn...

Ok, so what's the final decision for the racecar??? KE70 wagon turned ute with big T-Wing?

Where we working on it? would it be an idea to assign different parts of the build to different members, or groups of members, then bring it all together at a later date?

What specs are the collective happy with?

Here's a few of my thoughts...

KE Wagon, cut down to ute, braced rear, dropped, CIG locker, more camber and castor with t-series front suspension, twin headlight conversion (just for porn), either a 4AGTE or something a little more insane, like a 4K-TE??? lots of stickers, sexy paint, rediculous looking front lip spoiler (adapted from a Lancer or something) and 5 inch side exit exhaust. oh, of course a T-Wing that sits higher than the roof is a MUST!!!

I got this image of what could pass as a minitruck with the front sitting a little higher than the back... Anyways, i have been working too many long shifts lately, so i'll stop my ramblings and let someone else come up with a more plausable idea.

I think we are getting ahead of your selfs,

First we need to find a place to to race.

Then buy a old demo derby car, to rob all the safety gear.

Build the cars

Decide on the rules

We should have a sit down chat, and nut this one out.

Should we all try for "a" car and race it at "Barbagello" or build "several" cars and race in a field or something.

We should talk to Lappy, as he races junior sedans and would know what is involved in running a racing team.

Wow, it seems like soooo much work. I'm still keen... actually, i had a thought a few months ago... instead of trashing perfectly good corollas, why not have an excel race series??? that way we can crash cars no-one wants anyway!

What's the plan of attack fearless leader?!?!

i am really liking this driving team idea.

having more than one car means more then one driver.

personally if i provided the car i would like to drive

I'm sure others would feel the same.

and it would be good all getting together to work on/fix the cars

I suppose then the question would be, what skills can people bring to the team, what experience do people have, what series would we be looking to get involved in, should we look at starting our own series?

I am sure there are a few people who'd love the opportunity to drive, such as myself, but if i am truly honest in my own appraisal of my skills, i'd be better use in the pits. (for now).

I'm quite keen on the drift idea, and think it'd be great to see a rollaclub.com drift team here in perth... Shall we leave the individual's car's layout to the individual, and just chip in wherever possible in building them? And what'd be cool team colours??? We have to have team colours!!!

My sister is acutally an embroiderer by trade... I could sooo get some team jackets and shirts done up!!!

Well what team members do we need?

Also we need a place to store the cars, every team has a spare car. And a way to get them too and from the meets.

Tyres and fuel, spare parts

Do you guys want to talk about this face to face?

Chris

we could discuss it at out next cruise... BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAA!!!

For a car to race at Barbagallo you would need Minimum of

5 Point Racing harness $130-170

Fire Extinguisher approx $100

Rollcage $0-1000

They would probably require a level 2 speed cams license to race at Barbagallo

Entry to the race track every meeting $30-50?? Nomination???

Or Membership to WACC (BARBAGALLO) $500??

Drifting Pits would also require Multiple wheels/tyres, Jack, Jack stands, wheel brace, fuel, spare parts, ZIP TIES

That would be a basic require ments plus the costs of building the car. Personally a Grip car would be something I would find interesting, but if you guys want to drift it probably would be a cheaper alteranatives

Any feedback on your thoughts would be appreciated. Still a great idea but some homework on requirements and cost of racing in classes/track

i think motorkhana and khanacross would be a good start. and see how that goes.

its not going to be cheap to build a car that will actually drift at barbagello,

with motorkhanas we could still compete with say a 4k, not having to upgrade to 4age or other.

So Motorkhanas it is? still going for the KE70 Ute? or would something with a smaller wheelbase be better to throw around? Still got the KE20 sitting around over here.
