soyboy Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I've heard Camberwell Markets on Sundays are pretty good... it's more toward crafts and bric a brac I think tho. One of my mates reckons she picks up some pretty good bargains on jeans and shoes there. Haven't been myself though so can't really say. It's in the car park out the back of the shops on the corner of Burke and Prospect Hill Rds. Quote
SoulSearcher Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 we went, we saw, we loved it!!! The views from Dock 5 were amazing, what's with the seagulls flying around the two towers on the bridge at night time???? There was a gym and a 25 meter pool in the building!!!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! The car service I booked (remember the C300?) we got picked up in a mercedes, and then on the way back to the airport got picked up in a fricken HOLDEN! They'll be getting a letter tomorrow! The people in Melbourne were sooooo friendly! We were walked in the right direction, given tips (where to go), directions, they were really really friendly :bash: The Aquarium was good, a bit boring Crown Casino was fabulous (we were a bit rushed but we walked out with about $300 in winnings) We went to Hardware lane a couple of times - YUMMO! We went to China Town, again YUMMO Bourke Street shopping was FUN! Caught the Tram's everywhere which was a lot of fun, glued to the windows!!! The train to Hawthorn was fair, we got off at hawthorn and walked to the University and then found out it we had have stayed on the train for one more stop we would have only had to walk a block!! Went to the Square, um Fed? watched and listened to all the stuff happening and had a few drinks at the trax bar? cool music :( Went to harbour town, over-rated Went to the markets at harbour town, they were fun, and had a wonder (more yummy food).... The only thing we didn't get to do, was go to the markets, but we've decided we'll go again sometime soon and make sure we get there!! THEN!!! I had the BEST thai chili and basil chicken stir-fry from Billie Blu's AT THE AIRPORT!!!!! So thank you so very, very much for providing me with all the information about melbourne :y: we had so much fun!!! Quote
78_7kRolla Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Glad to hear that you had such a great time! Next time you should bring the sportivo down, beats a Holden or C300 anyday. Quote
SoulSearcher Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 yeah, with the price of fuel and flights, it's about the same in cost to travel there, but it's only an hour or so in a plane...plane wins!.....also, there's no way I'd want to drive in melbourne!!! You guys go to the left lane to turn right! Quote
dfunkt Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 yeah, with the price of fuel and flights, it's about the same in cost to travel there, but it's only an hour or so in a plane...plane wins!.....also, there's no way I'd want to drive in melbourne!!! You guys go to the left lane to turn right! the travelling is just as much fun as the time spent at the destination....me and my partner drove to SA and back the weekend before you came here. $90 each way in petrol. hook turns are one of the greatest road rules we have in vic! without them, we'd either have to get rid of trams, or only turn left inside the cbd....and now all i can think of is Zoolander. hehe dF Quote
SoulSearcher Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 lol, zoolander :jamie: in Adelaide CBD you can only turn left on most streets where the trams are.... Quote
Johno Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Glad to hear you had a great time, oh yeah.. hook turns... forgot to mention that! I have been driving for 8 years and never done a hook turn Quote
