  1. I got home safe, Massive thankyou to Jarrad and Mel, once again you have done a outstanding job  It was great to see everyone again and meet some new faces too  It was so good to finally take a rolla on this cruise, I had a blast. Thanks everyone
  2. So pumped for this.. I'll be at the todd rd meet point tomorrow in the rolla.
  3. Hey matt, if you need a hand with the twinky to get it back together, just let me know yeah Unfortanatly I got rid of all my spare parts but i still have 2 gearboxes if you want one
  4. No updates really.. :( I still have to get around to painting the last bits and peices of the car just like i said 6 months ago, lol  Prob the biggest news is I have decided to sell the lil beast :( Its not something I want to do but eather the ford or the rolla has to go and the rolla fails to carry planks and extention ladders to work for me.. I'm going to hang on to it till the Vic Great Ocean Road crusie, then its on the market.

    7Age?

If you used a 7afe block with a 4age head you would have a heap more compression wouldnt you? 11:1 or something.. :hmm:
  6. I don't know if i mentioned it a few months ago or not but I'm keen to hit the Gor run again. Sorry for the late notice, It will just be me coming along this year, Cheers
  7. Congrats mate, its a good feeling when you get to drive it registered for the first time. I've done about 5 cars up and the feeling never changes :jamie:
  8. Wasn't there a 4agte in a ae82 corolla putting 470kw on the ground on the front cover of a zoom mag about year ago, anyine see it? Maybe it was with a bit of help of some NOS.. :jamie:
  9. I got the problem sorted now. I chucked lower stiffer springs in and now it sits on the road nice, bumps and puddles are not a problem anymore. :P

  11. Id just mask it up, give it a quick sand and paint it a colour that id actually like.
  12. If you want to test the viscosity then just make yourself a cheap tester. I had a plastic one for paint but you could very easily make one out of cardboard. Just get two peices of cardboard about 150mm X 25mm, cut a thin V inside both of them then with a marker mark numbers up the side. The more viscos (Thinner) the fluid is the faster it will travel up the slit and spread. The thicker the oil will stick to the sides for longer and the thin oil will fall off quicker. So dip 1 stick in engine oil and the other in diff oil, Pull out and watch what happens. The thicker oil will be on about 4 and the thin oil with be on 6. Both have to be done at the same time with identical cardboard pieces for it to become sicentific :blinks: \
  13. I have a C52 gear box and when I had it hooked up to my 4ac i could slam any gear at any rpm and it would never crunch. Then i hooked the same gearbox up to a 16v 4age with a Exeedy HD clutch and now it crunches 2nd and sometimes 3rd unless i drive like a grandma. My point is it might not be the gear box and more a cluch ajustment.. thats what i'll be trying next cos i lift my clutch only 2mm off the floor and it wants to grab straight away.
  14. Can you put me down as a maybe, cheers Evan.
  15. Thanks for the cruise Matt, it was great to get out and see everyone again and further more.. in a corolla! :) On the way home I recruited a new member.. Jayson, drives a red ae82 4age sedan :)
  16. I'm up early for this one.. its been over 2 years since i had a corolla on a rolla cruise so i'm like a kid on christmas morning.. haha! I might have another mate coming too, his name is Tim and has a Ke30 with a 18RG, sadly can't make it in the rolla but is coming down in a R32 skyline :fuzz: See you guys down there!
  17. I tried to text you but i didnt have your number, I thought i did have it but then I was going to wait at cranbourne for you but thought you guys might but be hitting aurthurs seat first.. oh well next week should be good.. Jamie:
  18. All you have to do is pull the old cluster out and plug the new tacho cluster in. All the wires should be there for plug and play. Try and find one with low Kms, save's winding it back later.. hehe
  19. Get the head refaced, crack tested and pressure tested. With the engine block use a block with some 240 sandpaper and thinners. Its ok to get a bit of crap down in the water and oil galerys but if you get anything in the cylinders, blow it out with a air compressor or if you don't have one then get a vacume cleaner and suck it out, you dnt want to damage your rings too.
  20. I'll be in for the pre run if your still ging ahead with it?
  21. Hey Sam, congrats on the rolla  Looks like a great first car. What happened to that k36 you were getting? Instant power increase would be an exhaust, you'll get about 15% more power But reallly cheap just give it a service it, change all the filters and fluids.
  22. Cool, what other plans do you have for it? With your front seats, did you have any trouble bolting them down or did you need to weld brackets on? Cheers, Johno
