rjenman, spot on. Sounds like you have done your homework!

Any 4a-ge can be changed to rear wheel drive, as long as you source a RWD gearbox (T50 bolt on, W50, W55, W56,W57,W58 overkill etc etc etc)

4A-GE 20 valve WILL fit into a KE35, but... there is a catch (doh)

The distributor will stick into the firewall ! You will need to cut a hole, or bash the firewall into the right shape. Alternatively, use a Crank angle sensor (from 4A-GZE)

Search on Google for 4A-GE 20valve AE86, same procedure, different car.

the W50, W55, W56,W57,W58 gearbox, what do they come out in???

and do that use a T50 bell housing???

anyone know

TRD_ke70: W5x boxes mostly came out in Supra's, although I think the W50, 55 and 56 came out in the later model Celica's and Corona's. Something along those lines. W57 and W58 are apparently the ones to get, as they are alloy cased so a fair bit lighter.

W boxes don't use T50 bellhousings, but you can get bellhousings to mate them to a 4AGE. The cheapest I've been able to find are from Malaysia, and will cost you approx $300 (for the bellhousing). Clutch on drivers side (like Jap spec 4AGE), starter top passenger side (like stock). You'll also need to get a clutch to suit.

lol, T50s are bloody heavy gearboxes, about the limit of what one person can carry in such an awkward-sized package. a K gearbox is so much lighter :P

Sorry i should have been more direct i meant the T50 is lighter compared to the

W gearboxs but hey the W gearboxs can handle alot more power than T50

About 300+ hp as seen here.......
