I'm after some 6.5" or narrower wheels (steelies, alloys...i don't care) in 14" or 15" Diameter to suit my KE30.

I have the typical brake upgrade as detailed in the FAQ. Corona struts with coilover kits welded on. Peugot rotors and Landcruiser calipers.

I also have an LSD R31 Skyline diff in the rear, so the centre bores of the hubs are different front to rear. 60mm Front and 66mm Rear.

I can get get those bore spacers to fix the excess clearance in the wheels, so thats not an issue. Its simply a case of getting the right offset wheels to clear my coilovers.

The trouble I have is that my existing 15" x 7" are too wide to pass engineering, but they fit perfect otherwise.

I can tell you that 14" wheels off a cressida are tight on the hub bore, and the tyre scrubs on my lower spring adjustment nut.

15" TRX and R31 Steelies are set way to far in, so the tyre scrubs even more.

So who has this conversion in their car, and what rims and tyres sizes do you run?

Keeping in mind that in VIC, the diameter of the wheel and tyre must not vary by more than 15mm from standard.

I thought that engineering was to certify that your modified car was safe... If they fit perfect and do not cause any "problems", then

they should be engineerable, right? I'm guessing that the laws of the no bigger/smaller than 15mm from stock rims only apply to unmodified/unengineered cars.

Do not quote me on this, but isn't that the role of engineering: to ensure that a non-standard modification is safe.

You can use corona 14" steelies

also i can fit r31 wheels.

It could be the way your kit has been welded on.

I will grab a corona rim and try it out.

The issue i have is offset related i think. The lower spring support would have to be moved atleast 60mm upwards to clear the tyre.

The R31 rims fits fine, but but its only 15mm from the strut and maybe 40mm between it and the lower spring support. So once a 195/15 tyre goes on, it will most definately scrub.

I was under that impression too. However, during my meeting with my engineer he informed me that the maximum was strictly a 1" wider rim. There was also regulations on the extent that the front and rear track are increased. I am still using the KE30 LCA's, so thats a good enough argument to say it hasnt been affected.

The R31 rims fit fine on the rear, and actually sit quite far into the gaurds, so it makes it 'appear' as though the R31 diff hasnt affected it too much.
