high tension or low tension lead?

i dunno man it just has power at the wire on the solanoid or whatever it is on the side of the coil but not at the top of the coil if you understand what i'm saying

By the sound of it you mean the ballast resistor?

If it is open circuit replace it..

coil should still get 12v on crank though..

tha coil is gettin power to the resistor but not to the coil can i jus pull the resistor off and put a betta coil on it??

What you are saying makes no sense, The coil gets power via the ballast resistor (Drops the voltage to around 6V). Where abouts in Brisbane are you from?

hillcrest, i don't undastand electrics man i can just about do anythin mechanical but throw electrics at me an i hav nearly no idea aye so even if i put a better coil pack on it i will hav 2 keep the ballast resistor right??? i'm only askin coz i don't know!!!

The coil could be fine, It may just be it is not wired right.

Then of course the ballast resistors do let go and they don't keep power to the coil after crank..

If you need a hand let me know, I work over that side of town and can come have a look after work tomorrow..

Mine is doing the same, have cheaked the power to the coil, there is power but not 12v, just don't give spark to distributor???

have you tried cleaning the contact points inside the distributer yet?
