philbey Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 high tension or low tension lead? Quote
SLW42 Posted December 11, 2008 Author Report Posted December 11, 2008 high tension or low tension lead? i dunno man it just has power at the wire on the solanoid or whatever it is on the side of the coil but not at the top of the coil if you understand what i'm saying Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 By the sound of it you mean the ballast resistor? If it is open circuit replace it.. coil should still get 12v on crank though.. Quote

Medicine_Man Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 What you are saying makes no sense, The coil gets power via the ballast resistor (Drops the voltage to around 6V). Where abouts in Brisbane are you from? Quote

Medicine_Man Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 The coil could be fine, It may just be it is not wired right. Then of course the ballast resistors do let go and they don't keep power to the coil after crank.. If you need a hand let me know, I work over that side of town and can come have a look after work tomorrow.. Quote

MR AKE70 Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Mine is doing the same, have cheaked the power to the coil, there is power but not 12v, just don't give spark to distributor??? Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 its wired wrong.. Had same prob, had all the wires back to front. forgot how i fixed it though, think i had wire from dizzy to coil on the negative side instead of positive.. or other way around? :) Quote
