Jason Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 i don't get it.... Are you saying if its ok to take a Ke30 on a long drive? Quote
kangaroosa Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 yep they cruise well. Occasionally you might get the odd wheel that falls off - but aside from that they are fine. :D As for stable - I guess it depends on who's driving and who your running from. Just kidding. The police play a vital role in our society. Quote
kai Posted April 11, 2005 Author Report Posted April 11, 2005 thanks for reply. :D because my fd got a toyota spinter 1983 said his car floats to another line when he is doing 110km/h i know, that can be because of winds...or other conditions... btw, i really love KE30 and KE50, they looks cool~~ and toyota engines, plenty of torque~~ Quote
Super Jamie Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) sounds like your friend needs a wheel alignment and maybe some new tyres corollas are light cars, if you want to do ridiculous speeds (150km/h+) then it's going to wander about a little, as small graduations in the road affect the car alot more than they would with a heavier car. this will be made greater if you increase engine power, as the car not only has to grip laterally (sideways) but under acceleration (forwards) as well. it's not unusual for a light car to change lanes under braking in poor grip conditions but for normal highway driving (110km/h) i don't think you'd have any problem with a corolla that had good tyres, a straight (un-crashed) body and proper wheel alignment (preferably slight toe in, even setback and about 2.5-3 degrees of castor). lowering your car will help give it more stability around corners at high speeds, as will fitting a small front spoiler, you can easily adapt something from an escort or datsun tell your friend to get a ke30 like a real man  ae86 yuck! :D Edited April 11, 2005 by Super Jamie Quote
kai Posted April 11, 2005 Author Report Posted April 11, 2005 ic, i gona tell him now, hahaa;)09 i m not want to race with that, i love it and don't want damage it :D and now, i gona have a look at the Market Place at rolla club look forward to get a KE30 or KE50 with straight,un-crashed body. here is a nice place for corolla, everyone love corolla i believe i can get a good corolla here  Quote
ancullen Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 if you want to do ridiculous speeds (150km/h+) then it's going to wander about a little I was amazed a few years back (when I was just beginnig to drive) when a mate told me how his Holden Torana (Sunbird shape with 253) began to shake at about 140. I got in my Galant to find out if it did the same sort of thing and it drove nice and steady even up past 160. Even when I've maxxed it out (190 with a tailwind and the road declining slightly) it was pretty steady. But then again, it does weigh 1200kg + driver. And to any of you young hooligans out there, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THIS FAST! When I drove my car at that speed, it was on the Stuart Highway in the NT, where it is legal. Do not speed illegally, not only is it unsafe, it's expensive, trust me. If you feel the need for speed, go to your nearest racetrack. It will actually end up cheaper to pay to go racing than to pay off speeding fines. Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 there is no need to resurrect a dead topic to add something like that Quote
