Well, i found my self last night pondering over time travel. Always has fasinated me someway or another!

So, i got thinking about how humans percieve time, aposed to how a snail percieves time. Obiously a snail's would be much slower. Humans much faster. Well, what do you think would happen if a human was put into some sort of transporting device which went *so fast* which somehow changed *humans* perseption of time.... does this make any sence?

Reason i said the snail bit is; i was watching a program on the twin towers. A snails persecption of events is so slow, that by the time the towers fell, the snail would of hardly realized, because of.. the refresh rate  ... see what i mean?

Ill get some facts one day.. hmmm...

Now, if a human was in this fast moving device, the human would adapt to this new speed they were traveling at ~ altering the perception of time & "refresh rate" to whats happening. .

:D

Altering perception wouldn't be changing time. If you could speed up your perception of time. Every thing would seem slow. visa versa

The only way to adapt to a fast moving object btw, is to have you eye see faster. Take you computer screen (CRT) how its got so many Hz. It shows about 80 images per second, the only reason we see it as a smooth image because our eye are slower than the refresh rate. Basic right.

But if you were to adapt to a certain speed, you would just see clearer images. And they wouldn't be blurred. I hope I'm making sense, I'm tired.

look up something called the twin paradox

it's one of einstein's theories, it involves two twins born at the same time, one stays on earth, the other travels in a spaceship somewhere and comes back. when they are reunited, one twin has gone through more time than the other, evidence supported by clocks each twin has with them, even though time is a constant

too add to the debate of seemingly meanless stuff that actually has meaning.... what is nothing?

when i say there is nothing in my hand... although i have nothing there there is still something there. air..

Then we say to someone, picture nothing.. now picture nothing what do u see??? u see nothing? its proballly

BLACKNESS ..... but blackness is a a color.. or a lack of color as some people like to put it... but lack of or not it is still something. So u can't really have nothing... The galaxy is apprently expanding everyday in nothing... but how do we know its into nothing if nothing has ever been ther before.. But there can of ever been nothing there before because if there had been nothing there in the begining then nothing could of passed into that space... so the galaxy is apparently expanding into a void of nothing yet still been able to support its self... and what happens when u run out of nothing? is there something waiting at the end of the que... ?

When ur say sneaking round a room, someone walks in its like... "i was doing nothing" but if ur just sitting there doing nothing(that word again) ur actually doing somthing, sitting there.... thinking about doing nothing with out even really.. thinking about it

OK so i will go I'm a room, with no gravity. that way i can't be sitting or standing. and with black walls(commonly conveived as nothing) and what is in that room with me.... ? theres gota be air... if i was say dumped in this room unconcious(SP?) that was the size of say the moon... with all black walls.. no light, or gravity or oxygen(ignore the fact i can't breath) what is there in that room with me...? there is still ME not nothing... and there is still the black the color.. or lack of color...

ok I'm not sure wtf i just rambled on about... its probally nothing but meh..

mate i have always had those thoughts about nothing.....

how can we say there is nothing......when there is actually something.....

i debated with a friend of mine in high school for a whole day over the subject......he eventually won and brought this nothing topic to my realisation.

however you can also add to your thinking..... nothing......is made up of 2 words right?

no and thing........what do was class as a thing though?.....an inanimate object?.....a moving object can still be classed as a "thing", like eg. "that thing is moving"......but when you add to letters to the front of it......nothing.....hmmm.....weird.

what really gets me.....is can you have an absence of nothing....???....if there is nothing there how can we have an absence of it?

basically i think it comes down to the english language, and how it is interpreted.

this topic is really interesting fellas.....keep it up

we live in a 3 dimentional world. Everyone thought the world was flat untill some smart ass proved it wrong. Is the galaxy just a big round object, so big that light it self cannot keep up with it ~ hence why they keep discovering more out there*** ?

eveything else we know appears to have boundries.. i think we just need more technology to figure this galaxy thing...

Clocks are very trippy things ! hehehehe

if a tree falls in the woods, and nobody's around to hear it, does it make a sound?

i often play with the idea that the world gets drawn as you see it. say i have a closed box. there's nothing inside it, like absolutely nothing, no contents, no color, no air. as soon as i open the box, the things inside spring into existance till i turn my back on them

i base this theory on the fact that every time i look at my work mobile phone, it's refreshing the screen like it just turned on, and there's half a second or so before it brings up the date. cdma can't keep up with real life cos it's the sux :D
