p0rt Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) I know almost nothing to do with corolla's. But this little fellow popped up at an acceptable price, and being rwd i just couldnt resist Was resprayed by previous owner 3months ago, new clutch, 4spd manual, i think 1.3L engine? with extractors Apparently it has coupe taillights, and ive checked over the car several times, it appears to be 100% RUST FREE. And a dirty great big blower which does absolutely nothing, perched on the bonnet, with 5" inch cannon hanging out back! Engine is going for a mini overhaul once mate arrives from goldcoast, then ill sell it on, so keep an eye out for it for sale if u like the look of the beast! 1st post on the forum, so hi to all  Edited February 1, 2009 by p0rt Quote
Jason KE30 Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 damn that thing looks pretty mean looks like something is lurking under the bonnet. get a nice set of deep dish rims to really set her off. don't know about the bonnet scoop tho it looks ok i guess wicked colour  Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 looks to have widened stockies on the back. I think the "blower" your referring to is actually called a bonnet scoop, your particular one is known as a hornet scoop. Very nice base for a project, paint looks pretty good and no rust is a massive bonus! Quote
p0rt Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 Well after its had its lil issues worked out, one of you boys can buy it for a nice engine transplant! Quote
JiP Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Hi, welcome to the club and... WoW!! I've never seen hardtop lights on a sedan. Not a fan admire the effort. I'm keen to see more pics of this. So it came from the GC?? Where has it been hiding for me never to have seen it  Quote
roladude Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 I seen that for sale on Boost and ebay it was a good buy. But I am not a fan of the Hornet scoop The car looks good tho. Quote

Picked it up from boost, was worried it wasnt going to make home even tho i was babying it, an hour under the hood after i got it home and it goes well again, still re-gasketing most of the topend so i can cruise with peace of mind. Where has it been hiding for me never to have seen it  No it lives on the mid north coast, my mates roadtripping down for the weekend from the goldcoast and going over it. If you are chasing more pics, just say what u want too see and ill snap a few happily. Also not sure what KE55 corolla suspension is like usually? but this thing rides like its on rails at speed on corners, will duck my head under it and see what suspension it has tomorrow Edited February 2, 2009 by p0rt Quote
Jason KE30 Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 pretty simple suspension setup MacPherson struts up front and leaf springs in rear for better handling i hear you should upgrade to RA60 Celica front struts with king springs then inverth the lower spring in the rear and get 2" lowering blocks will give you a lower centre of gravity and you should have better handling Quote
p0rt Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 Yeah ive peeked under the car this morning, rather impressed by the way it handles, but all looks to be stock? this car however has a genuine 162xxx km on the odometer, so maybe its just been well taken care of over the years. Thinking maybe i need to find a lowered set of springs for the front. Quote
