Sim Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) panelvan's are classed as a commercial vehicle in the same vein as a small truck or what have you, so even if you have an escort van or a mini panelvan they are still classed the same, as technically its classed as a heavy vehicle, even if its as small as a ke26 etc. they have different emission laws aswell i believe aswell as what jono said with the engine swap thing. it makes me all happy inside. SLO-030 Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 It thinks its determined as a goods carrying vehicle not a passenger vehicle. I have a holden WB One Tonner with a 6cyl which is classified as a goods carrying vehicle, and to register it in the city (as opposed to country) for 12 months wont get you much change from $700. So it does have its down sides. Quote
ballzy Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 but does it matter about not being a full chassis vehicle most commercial vehicle are full chassis and isn't that why you can put such a larger motor in them?? Quote
seabiscuit Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 but does it matter about not being a full chassis vehiclemost commercial vehicle are full chassis and isn't that why you can put such a larger motor in them?? Which comes back to the upgrading of things to suit the motor. Who would do a 1JZ/2JZ conversion into such a small car without making it safer anyway? You are the one driving it! Quote
