never Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 I have the standard k series radiator in my car with the 2tg and as the picture below shows the hose doesn't have the bend to fit on. As I see it I have 2 options 1. find a hose with that 90 degree bend in it - any ideas on that one? 2. Get a piece of metal pipe to fit between the hose I have and another hose that is a 90 degree bend... Any help on this? Quote
Redwarf Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Or, option 3, get the pipe on the radiator moved over to the other side, which is what I did with mine. Quote
SLW42 Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 maybe get 2 hoses and join them in the middle :P Quote
toyota_ae71 Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 as you already know just did my conversion and i did what red did... get the inlet moved to the other side. only took half a day for the rad shop to do it. Quote

silverra23 Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Get the outlet moved as redwarf has done. Definitely the best solution - that is what has been done on my club racer. Quote
never Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 I rang a radiator place and changing the outlet over is not much hassle. My perhaps stupid question is, with both outlets on the same side of the radiator wont it make it pretty inefficient? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Out of curiousity, I wonder how a flipped AE82 Twincam hose would go. Looks like this, so just mirror-image it and cut it down to the right length Edited April 22, 2009 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
silverra23 Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 The coolant is still going to get pushed through the radiator by the water pump, so I can't see it being a big issue for cooling. Radiator place would know best though. Quote
Redwarf Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 They put a little deflectory do-dah in there to direct the water flow in the direction required. I had it in with a good competition motor, and never had any issues. (It was a three core.) Quote

never Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 Yeah i have been convinced. My radiator is in good condition and I think everything will look much neater this way. Thanks for the help, getting closer to the finish every day. Quote
