Ella Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 hey guys, My DX wont run properly, it turns over but then when you get it going it only runs if you continually pump the throttle pedal, it wont idle and wont run at Wide open or part open throttle. any ideas? anyone in brisbane want to come have a look? pay in cash or beer haha. lots of interesting stuff on the jap spec engine likee electronic ignition and a cat converter and oxygen sensor... lol too many vacumn lines and too many wires for my liking... cheers yall. Luke. Quote
the Db king Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 hay bro. send me a pm ill come around and have a look for ya, Quote
slapper Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 My theory: sounds like blocked jets ... Pumping the accelerator pedal is giving a little squirt from the accelerator pump each time. If that's what you;re needing to do to keep it running, then it sounds like it's not getting enough (or maybe any at all) fuel. Since the only fuel being delivered at constant throttle positions comes from the jets, then they've got to be suspect. Pull the carby down and run an kit through it. You might also want to double check the float level when you do the kit. cheers, Slapper Quote
Ella Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 well i pulled the main jet out and replaced that already froma aus spec carby, problem with your solution is that jap spec carby is well different so i don't think theres a kit available hey.. Quote
skitz_one Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 sounds like it may be one hell of a vacuum leak? like when it's idling it's drawing in to just set off the idle jet because it's leaning out, then when you open it up it just sucks hard and makes your main jet run lean, though when you pump it it'll let the fuel through but won't have such a draw on the vacuum it'll be a quick suck but when you jump off the throttle it'll go back down to a small draw? just throwing ideas out there Quote
seabiscuit Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Sounds like Slapper might be right. New carby! Quote

crispyke35 Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 I had the same problem by just not having my dizzy cap on properly. Quote

I know ALL about vacuum leaks lol. Quote
skitz_one Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 What does CIS stand for skitz? Constant Injection System by bosch called kuschilfieger. german of course. Old school mechanical fuel injection, runs of electric pumps, set injectors, pistons valves etc. and has individual port injection. very complicated and problem filled if you don't understand it, a vacuum leak can make a car not start lol.
