You'd have to be crazy to grind anything off the quads. No way did I do that.

I just filed the yager fitting off at the sides to clear the quads, which was just kind of smoothing one edge of it around where a stud mounts. To fit it I had to remove this large steel array of vaccum and fuel return lines under the quads. I ran the fuel return in efi hose tucked up under the throttles, and the vacuum port was just for the brake booster and there is two of them, so it was deleted with a bolt and sealing washer.

Sorry I will edit it, I knew you did some sort of grinding in there. In any case it is not required on the silvertop, either that or they have reviewed the design a little. The one I bought is of there new stock.

I am trying to remove the large steel thing at the moment, I have undone three bolts, what else is holding it on dammit??

what steel thing

The one that holds the fuel return and some vacuum lines.... I couldn't work out last night how to remove it. I will have another look on the weekend in the daylight.

yeah just 3 bolts as you say, and all those vacuum lines that go super stiff over time. I say if it doubt hit it!

Nice... I know it is frowned upon to hit things but seriously the hammer has featured in a lot of my workings on this car lately and it is always a good friend to have.

The pipe from the water pump to go around the alternator is from a Mazda 929 82 onwards, it is the bottom hose for that model. The pipe that then connects to that pipe to get you to the bottom of the radiator is from the same model, just the top hose. With a piece of pipe in between it is a perfect match. I just used this combo on mine and with a little cutting and modifying it is a good combination without stress on the hoses etc.

Thanks for the pics Matt, they will help greatly.
