paulybro Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Hi all, just a quick question for any one to mention what they think: i am about to recieve a ke70 slant front, its a auto with a 4a or 4k I'm not sure but anywho. i want to make it into a nice cruzer witha fair amount of power like say enough to spin 3rd in the dry, i am thinking about a worked 20v or a 4age Turbo? i would rather keep it N/A for easy of setting up and tuning blah blah but what do you think, i don't want a drifter or a stiff as ride, a nice car with a good ride. what mods would you recommend as most of you guys have done things to rollas, what would you do if you did your modifications again? gearbox, engine, wheels, clutch, suspension, i would like a good all rounder thanks guys car will be a project so a reasonable budget is allocated Pauly Quote

Your project is your project so in the end it's up to you to decide what would be good. If it's an AE71 (which has a 4A engine) a 4age conversion would be a really good option as it is pretty much a bolt-in conversion. However if it's a KE70 (which has a 4k engine) you would need to spend a little more money to get a 4age in. For a 4age implant I'd suggest for an all round "cruiser which spins nuts in 3rd in the dry":- Gearbox - T-50 or possibly even a W-series Supra box! Engine - 4age with turbo conversion, aftermarket ECU and forged internals Wheels - Whatever tickles your fancy but oldschool Jap-spec rims suit KE70's really well! Clutch - Whatever bolts to a T-50 or W-5x box Suspension - Aftermarket springs would be good if it's just a cruiser - just to make it low and a little stiffer but not back breaking. I suggest checking out other RollaClubber project cars and if you like it ask them what they like about it, what they don't, what was easy, what was hard, the costs etc. (and if it spins nuts in the dry in 3rd :P ) Sorry for the novel, but I hope it helps :P Quote
Roo Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 why spin in 3rd? its pretty easy done up the diff ratio and you should be able to hit that with a standard 4age. if i was you for a cruiser just go a 16v 4age Quote
paulybro Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 Sweet, so what about a nice 4age? as in what work would best suit the engine? (big cams, forgies, quads?) i probebly wouldnt turbo it as I'm hoping to make a nice na with good power and reliable, i would love to put high gears in the arse end but i will need it for highway cruzing too so prob wont go that high. I'm pretty sure its got the 1.3lt which i think is a 4a???? which means i would need to change a lot? i just got the car today so i will be taking some pics and letting you know how I'm going soon. Any more posts people would like to add to the topic? I'm asuming by t5 u mean a commy box??? it probebly isnt but that is just what comes to mind (being a commodore nut and all) thanks heaps guys. BReNt Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 The 1.3litre engine is a 4k so if you had that motor you would need change a few things. 4a's are 1.6litre. Having a car with a 4a makes the conversion to 4age a lot simpler. T50's are a Toyota gearbox and would already be in the car if it's an ae71 with the 4a motor. Quote
