the witzl Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 yep definitely a difference between early model T50 and later model T50 boxes. I've fitted up T18 driveline in an AE71 (T18 gearbox, tailshaft and diff - originally from a 3T), and of course had to get the 4A-T50 bellhousing from the late model T50 box. There are definitely some differences, and the gaskets would most likely not match. Just clean all surfaces THOROUGHLY with degreaser first, and then turps - to make sure there is NO oil left. Then use gasket silicon stuff, but pick one that is recommended for gearboxs/gear oil, otherwise it wont last as long (gear oil is nsaty nasty stuff!). Hope that helps. Quote
