ke71-rolla Posted July 20, 2009 Author Report Posted July 20, 2009 (edited) The guy at the carby shop was saying that because both of the vent things open at the same time at the bottom, and not one opening 3/4 way then the other one starting to open. I think he said its not a dmv carby? or something of the sorts 38DGMS 003232 found those numbers on either side I'm sure it would be a wicked carb for someone with more time and money, did wonders to my 4k. Had it on for a night, with a makeshift throttle cable mount, which unbeknown to me only allowed me to get the throttle about 50% open if that, so i wasn't able to flood it or anything, made the 4k noticeable faster and torque'er, weather that be placebo effect on my behalf I'm unsure. But once i made a mount for the throttle cable, allowing me to flatten the thing, it was undriveable, stuttering everywhere. my 4k is stocko as a rocko, 115 XXX kms Edited July 20, 2009 by ke71-rolla Quote
Felix Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) LOL. 38dgms, now that explains everything. I guess you got the 32/32 from the venturi sizes... Edit/Update your for sale thread. As rollapv75 said, check out Euro cars (Alfas/Fiats) with engine capacities up to 1600cc for a suitably sized weber. A 32/36 DGV is really to big for a little 4k, as they are designed for 1.8 to 2.0L motors. Sure some people get the 32/36 DGV's running reasonably on a 4k, but you will get MUCH better results with a more appropriatelly sized carb, ie. better drivabiliy, throttle response, torque and fuel economy. ke71-rolla Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 :P, yeah i was just told it was a 32/32 when i bought it, figured something was up when i got it home and tried to get it working, at least not i know what to look for eh >.>, whats the 38DGMS actually mean....from what i managed to gather the DGMS and DGV carb have different methods of opening the vents at the bottom Quote
