I have been told the 4K is the better engine with more off the shelf mods available for it. Also the 4K will rev better for longer and the guys down this way say the 4k built right will s%#* all over a 4ac in the dirt.

So I am told =)

I'm not exactly familiar with the 70 series...

but You'll quite possibly find too that an A-series motor in that shell won't be legitimate for PRC rules. Unless you were to make the KE70 an EXACT replica of the AE71 (ie guards, bonnet, door... basically anything that is different between Ae and KE needs to be changed)

Also, are you building this car to last for 6 months or 6 years?? If you don't want to throw it away after 2 seasons of racing, I strongly suggest you seam-weld the shell. Its a *c**t* of a job to put it lightly, its dirty, time-consuming, and monotonous. You'll have to strip the car back to a shell, and have a mig welder handy for about 3 weeks. But when its done, you'll have a bomb-proof shell, that will be 10x stiffer (more car control), and will last alot longer!!

Anymore questions about prepping a rally car, don't hesitate to ask. Have a chat to anyother of the rally guys on here too!! Knowledge is power, and its better to build a car right the first time!!
