OK guys, I've been quiet for a while....

 

I'm going to buy a TIG welder and I'll need to put it to work. I will be designing some strut braces for KE10's and if I can get access to KE20 to measure it up, I'll make some for them as well.

 

Basically they will be:

 

- Full stainless steel, so they'll polish up nice. Not as light as Aluminium but they'll look nice

- threaded ends, left and right hand threads so they can be wound out firmly

- Cool.

- designed to clear K engines - they will be straight bars, so I won't be able to garauntee fitment over taller engines like 4AGE's etc.

 

So, if you would be interested in getting one for your 10 or 20, let me know. As far as I can see, nobody is making them for these models?

we did a group buy for some to suit KE20's a while ago, they came from the US. Ended up pretty cheap so you might want to do some research into that. Heres what they look like :P

 

pretty sure no one makes em for KE1#s but few different options available for KE2#s. Genuine Japanese Cusco items around $220 for TE27 but fit KE2#s

Yeh I thought that was the case for the KE20's.

 

I'll knock up the top plates for the 10's and if people are interested in them for ke20s I'll design plates for them as well and I'll be able to use the same brace bar.

ill be interested in just the plates which mount to the towers . ( as ill have to modifiy my brace) to suit the sr20 rocket cover hump.

Yeh that could be done, for sure.

 

Are you sure it wont fit over? Not seen many SR's in ke's.

sammo, not quite. I've priced up a few bits, but until I finish the design and get a quote from a laser cutter I can't be certain.

 

Ideally I'd like to do it for 150.

 

ke55pig, I'm fairly sure there are some on the market that fit all models later than KE10's, just do a search because it's come up on the forums before.

Measured up and designed. I'll get prices on a one off and make it I think, then see about making more.

 

 

I'm keen on one for my 11 and one for a ke20 philbey!
