Jesseb369 Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Hey all, I was just wondering if it is fairly straight forward to change an auto to a manual in a ae71. I know you have to get a pedal box, Gear box, Gear box cross member and master cylinder into the fire wall. Do you need a new tail shaft aswel? or a bitsa one? Quote
Sam_Q Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 sounds like your already on top of it. Don't forget the metal line for the clutch across the firewall too. I can't help you with the info on the tailshaft though. I should be able to help you with some of the conversion parts though. Quote
Jesseb369 Posted October 10, 2009 Author Report Posted October 10, 2009 (edited) Cheers Sam, just an Idea that's all ;) Expanding my knowledge and getting everything right. I read a fair bit. just trying to understand more in detail. Any other Takers on info about the tailshaft ??? Edited October 10, 2009 by Jesseb369 Quote

The diff ratio is different but most people just cop the better acceleration from the 4.1 auto diff compared to the 3.9 manual diff. Edited October 10, 2009 by LittleRedSpirit Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 (edited) Don't forget there will be a bit of wiring involved as you have to wipe out the kill switch on the auto gearlever and make the reverse lights fit. Spigot bearing needed as well. Putting the pedal box in is the worst part! I assume you've seen this- http://www.ke70.com/forum/index.php?showto...amp;#entry10181 Just a little different to yours as far as the hydraulic clutch goes... Jesseb369 Posted October 10, 2009 Author Report Posted October 10, 2009 (edited) Cheers Littleredspirit. Yeah i have read that article you made. Its very good. Are they pretty much the same for Ae71's??? they should be, i wouldnt see why not. Same chassis layout pretty much. and the fact Ae's are hydraulic. Edited October 10, 2009 by Jesseb369 Quote
