Satyr Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Removing the snorkel from my AE102R...was a bit tricky but i have it off now. Now i noticed that through that hole where most people put their pod is a black box. What is it? It's just inside the front wheel guard. Quote
Rolla Boy Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 It's an Air Resonator, keeps a whole lot of air available so when you decide to put your foot down it has enough air to match the fuel injecting into the engine... Quote
irokin Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Its a resonator but its designed to reduce induction noise. I doubt it has any effect as a surge tank. Quote
Satyr Posted October 30, 2009 Author Report Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) It looks as though i have to remove the whole splashguard to get to it.....Damn! Fun times :2thumbs: Oh, i found one of Hiro's posts on Toyomods - think i'll just follow that for now. Edited October 30, 2009 by Satyr Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 It looks as though i have to remove the whole splashguard to get to it.....Damn! Fun times ;) Oh, i found one of Hiro's posts on Toyomods - think i'll just follow that for now. That's the whatsit :2thumbs: It's not really that hard, take the battery and the fuse-boxes out will make a bit more room, and turning the wheels all the way to the left gives you a bit more room around the wheel-well as well. Should only be two or three bolts that hold the resonator in, but might be handy to have a second person around in case you need a spanner on each end - kinda hard to do something in the engine bay at the same time as your head is stuck under the guard.
