Thinking of removing the rubber strips on my 55 just wondering if there is a way to make it quick clean and easy, which seems to be a rare event at the best of times working on rollas lol

Which rubber strips?

the old person body strips down the side of the car, the ones that always seem to be in the wrong spot when someone opens the door against your car.

 

care fully peel them off, be cautious not to take the paint off with it. then clean it up the sticky residue thats left with wax and grease remover.

To remove them easily people seem to use a heat gun to soften the tar behind it. Should make it easier not to remove paint

Use something like a plastic scrapper, or if your using a metal piece at least wrap some cloth rag around it. So that when you very slowly pull the strip from the car it shouldn't affect your paint. Patience is key :D

Nah angle grinders faster :D well i will be having a crack at it tomorow with the heat gun, got a bit of a diff problem at the moment so tackling that too.

angle grinders solve everything. My next door neighbour back in NZ cut new tread into his tyres with one. What a tripper.

try using Shellite it works well on pin stripes by softening the glue

it's available from hardware stores next to the metho and turps.

Just did my ke55 with it last week

p.s always use a plastic scraper if you want to leave any paint behind! :D
