jason12 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Hey, ive done a bit of a search but couldnt find what i was after. My 4k runs fine, but when it gets up to operating temp it seems to stall when idling. Other than that it runs fine. ive done some reading and apparently the points could cause this? i know nothing about points so what should i be looking for / checking? Also my distributor seems to have a bit of dust and stuff in it, what could i use to clean it all up a bit? Cheers, Jason Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Might just be a good opprtunity to put a new set of points in it. You can set some for under $10 from any parts store. Maybe also get a new rotor cap and button, and maybe some new leads and plugs too. Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 General tuneup needed I'd say- Plugs, points, condensor, air filter & check the timing, the mixture and idle screw.... Quote
jason12 Posted December 24, 2009 Author Report Posted December 24, 2009 Did all this and it got a bit better, but found out whoever put the bosch coil in didnt run it with a resistor so the coil gets 12v instead of 8, heats up n causes the spark to break down so have to get a resistor asap. Quote
