Evan G Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 its its on the frist reading thats low on fluid, should be on the highest mark when hot so pumping the trottle helped? did shifting from L to H under full load help? or did you go 60kph in first then shifted firm? did it make that YOUUUURRRRR KILLINGGGG MEEEEEE vibration at 60kph? Quote
KaiShin Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 Haha true... Well the fluid totally slipped my mind :jamie: What the best way to fill the box? Fill up some, go for a drive test the level and so forth? I've been so pre-occupied tryng to get all the stuff for the conversion since I bought the car, it hasn't really recieved the proper looking after... I;ve given up on the 3k and auto already :D Quote
KaiShin Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 Oh, thank you all very much for your help. Really feel good to feel like an idiot :jamie: Quote
Evan G Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 nah just use a funnel in the dipstick tube, just slowly top it up like 80ml a time, check it, fill, check untill its on max Quote
Bamboo Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 my opinion. raid your mum/partners drawers and find a skinny funnel. no luck? cut down a soft drink bottle and make it fit the dipstick tube. and pour away. It's always easier to add fluid than it is to take it out. BE GENTLE!!! As my boss always said,....................imagine a new virgin! Quote
Evan G Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 or use some plastic rolled into a cone! beat that bamboo! Quote
KaiShin Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 Ill be dead if I use the funnel from the kitchen... The wife would kill me in my sleep :D I shall get soem fluid tomorrow and make it all better. Back to planning the conversion then! :jamie: Quote
Bamboo Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Easy, Old fuel line to extend the pipe... size it up with heater hose... E....love your challenges!!!! LMAO Quote
Bamboo Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Kaishin, sorry you've been caught up in our laughs.. I'll concede.... Evan knows what he's talking about..... I just enjoy giving him shit!!! Quote
Evan G Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) just buy a funnel or half the fluid will be on the cement (the wife will also kill you here) bamboo calls me master butcher! i wonder why? :jamie: Edited February 2, 2010 by Evan G Quote
KaiShin Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 True... but I'd do it in my shed... Which has a lovely painted floor so I can just wipe it up :jamie: Quote
Bamboo Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Sorry again Kaishin, I've seen evans apron (stripy butcher like). Reality.. If you buy a one litre bottle it'll come with a pouring nozzle. easy. If you have any more probs I'll defend you from the butcher of the north. Big E we both agree... love ur work, yet again................ Bamboo Quote
KaiShin Posted February 3, 2010 Author Report Posted February 3, 2010 Ok... Fluid level is now good... Shifts and takes off from 1st still fine. In all 3 gear positions (L 2 D). Will hold first gear to 60kph if I hold the accelerator then just drops gears and free revs. When I am driving along and shift from D to 2, I feel it trying to do something. I n slower speeds I now hear a whining when in the 2 position, but no other position. If I keep my foot on the accelerator in D or 2 it will select a gear for about 2 seconds then drops the gear and free revs again. In L it holds the gear and starts screaming its tits off and shakes like its going to die. The plot thickens? Quote
sammo[RL] Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Could be the vacume line from the manifold to the gearbox. Has got some rubber pipe at each end. This can perish and cause a vacume leak, and thus making your gearbox not know which gear to pick... Quote
