Need Someone To Lock My Borgy Diff (nsw)

Featured Replies

just looking for someone who can lock my borgy diff for a ke70. I'm located in syd nsw

Remove the centre yourself and take it to a welding/fabrication/mechanics shop.

And tell them its for 'Track use only' ....which I hope it is anyway.

Alternatively get another centre and get that welded and swap them over. That way you can easily swap back to the open centre when you get defected.

yeah well umm I'm not really sure how to remove the whole centre, and I'm even tho i did i would think its a big hassel to remove and put back on, rather i just pay someone who can do the whole job for me. so yeah but thanks

So you want to get the diff welded whilst STILL IN THE CAR.

what are you talking about, I LOVE welding slag in my gears an bearingz bro.

I welded the diff in a ke30 while it was still in the car once. It turned out alright. Was a paddock basher though.....

I've done it before too. Every time the rod lit up you'd start an oil fire inside the diff housing!! :)

Wouldn't reccomend doing it though. That diff lasted about 8-9 months before it desintergrated both of the smaller sun gears.

well hear step to step

*2 super strong bricks too chock the front wheels (to stop it from rolling away)

*get a good jack!!!

*drain diff oil!!!

*jack it up from the midle of the diff be cairfull!!!!

*get two jack stands put them under the car and then lower jack take the jack out!!!!

*take the 2 back wheels offffff. 2 drums offfff aswell

*now you'll see 4 bolts at each end of the axles to undo spin alxel to it line up with bolt now undo!! both sides! so 8 bolts!

*when this is done pull the axle's out about 20cm (so they pull out of the diff centre)

*oh remember to keep bolts

*now 8 bolts on the diff hat undo them

*you will see 4 bolts remove them ohh and i think there is 2 spacers (they look like a chicks braclets) remember where they go

*now pull on the diff centre like a monkey untill it comes free remeber to catch it (don't let it hit the ground)

*now take it to a welders shop and say i want 15 sticks melted in her and say its for a rally car :)

have funn

cheers shaun
