Starlet82 Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 Wow! how did you do it? with a Rag and some rubbing compound or did you use something else? Quote
Xany Posted July 17, 2005 Author Report Posted July 17, 2005 drill buff is your friend.... :( cutting compound on them first and then using a polishing wheel..... i went out this arvo and bought myself 2 brand new polishing wheels....i'm gunna need them Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 buy a large calico wheel for the bench grinder, makes big jobs like this heaps easier :( of course you need to own a bench grinder first lol, perhaps you could thread one onto an angle grinder? Quote
Xany Posted July 17, 2005 Author Report Posted July 17, 2005 hehehehe.....i dunno about the bench grinder...i'd get sick of holding the wheel up there for so long :(...i do have one though. heres a pic of what tools i'm using atm to polish them up....only takes about 20mins a rim Quote
Ratty Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 good stuff i did myne too with polish and steel wool by hand!!! hehe bling bling Quote
Xany Posted July 17, 2005 Author Report Posted July 17, 2005 (edited) yup.....mine should come up like that when i chuck the new wheel on the drill.....:( btw: autosol polish is a godsend! Edited July 17, 2005 by Xany Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 (edited) steel wool tends to scratch chrome, so do scotch brites calico wheels are far better imo and you get a far better smoother finish with a high speed polishing wheel than you could ever get with elbow grease Edited July 17, 2005 by Super Jamie Quote
reCOUPErator Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Wow i'm lazy, i paid $25 each and it was a hell of a lot easier! Quote
