gday peoples....

 

well i decided to make a new thread about my newly aquired rims..hehehe...they will be to go on the two door KE30 of mine....

drill buff is your friend.... :(

 

cutting compound on them first and then using a polishing wheel.....

 

i went out this arvo and bought myself 2 brand new polishing wheels....i'm gunna need them

buy a large calico wheel for the bench grinder, makes big jobs like this heaps easier :( of course you need to own a bench grinder first lol, perhaps you could thread one onto an angle grinder?

hehehehe.....i dunno about the bench grinder...i'd get sick of holding the wheel up there for so long :(...i do have one though.

 

heres a pic of what tools i'm using atm to polish them up....only takes about 20mins a rim

yup.....mine should come up like that when i chuck the new wheel on the drill.....:(

 

 

btw: autosol polish is a godsend!

steel wool tends to scratch chrome, so do scotch brites

calico wheels are far better imo

 

and you get a far better smoother finish with a high speed polishing wheel than you could ever get with elbow grease
