You're a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, caught in the

middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're

trying to shoot career-making photos. Water and debris is swirling around people.

They are being dragged down and are disappearing under the water. Nature

is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

 

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He is fighting for his

life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer . . .

 

. . . somehow the man looks familiar. You suddenly realise who it is...

 

It's John Howard.

 

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to pull him

under.

 

You have two options:

 

You can save the life of "Little Johnny" or you can shoot a dramatic

Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of the Australian

Prime Minister.

 

So here's the question, and please give an honest answer....

 

Would you select high contrast colour film, or would you go with the

classic simplicity of black and white?

i'd probably go with colour.....bit more dramatic :D

black and white with a hazy filter... always makes it more dramatic... ummmm.

i think colour film, just to really catch the expression on his face.

And if the photo failed, just place a photo of a scared little chimp in his place!!

Shoot raw, let the photo editor and his minions deal with black and white conversion.

3. It is the individual responsibility of every photojournalist at all times to strive for pictures that report truthfully, honestly and objectively.

 

Incidentally, Kevin Clarke, Pulitzer winning journo who took this photo , and later commited suicide. His suicide note said "The pain of life overrides the joy to the point that joy does not exist."

LOL both me and scott choose the high contrast colour so we can both see the look in his eyes when he dies. :D

id shoot him in color, i can always edit it later... and when its shot in colour u can see how pale he is and laugh...
