Hi i have a standard 4k carb and my float is not sitting level like it should be. has anyone got a guide to setting it properly or do i just buy a float gage and bend the tab so that it sits rite. cheers

man go on ebay and buy a ke70 gregorys manual, there cheap as chips and tell u everythin

theres a hole section there on how to set the float level and u don't need a float gauge thing.

^Not a bad idea to have a manual as said above. But you are on the right track with bending the tap to level it. :P

Use a 7mm drill bit. With the carb top tipped upside down the gap between the float and the carb top gasket should be 7.5mm. That sets the gap when it closes, and hence float level.

 

The droop is 1mm between the float tab and the needle base when you keep it upside down and lift the float up to its full travel. That is the amount the float sinks away from the needle when the carb is empty.
