ae95- wagon kid Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 i know the injectors in the 4afe are tiny and are just enough to run a stock engine has anybody tried running bigger ones any ideal ones I'm getting a bigger fuel pump to suit cheers Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 And how are you going to control said injectors? What I'm getting at is you really need an aftermarket ECU if you want to start playing with things like that. Otherwise your ECU is just going to open the bigger injectors for the same time as the old ones and hence just give you a mega rich tune. Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 yeah i was just about to say that, ECU mod comes before injectors. Quote
ae95- wagon kid Posted June 7, 2010 Author Report Posted June 7, 2010 right oh cheers re-map old one or what should i do Quote
LowVp Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 no point changing injectors unless you are going to dramatically change the amount of air getting into the motor either by forced induction or cam and head combo otherwise you are wasting your money Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 i know the injectors in the 4afe are tiny and are just enough to run a stock engine has anybody tried running bigger ones What makes you think they are too small? And unless you're going to be cramming boost into the engine, scraping stratospheric rev-limits or really boring the engine out and increasing airflow massively, then there's no need. A simple exhaust and intake mod will not necessitate a change of injectors, let alone an aftermarket ECU or piggyback (you won't be able to "re-map" the stock ECU, Toyota ECUs are notoriously unmodifiable) Quote
