greendog Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 just been having some dramas with our rolla, maybe someone has some input for me...number 1 cylinder isnt firing all the time, weird but seems ok when cold.lead seems good, plug is nice colour not wet and fouled, which is what i was expecting. everything seems kinda ok.so just did a compression test on no 1 its telling me 150, pretty good to me ? so now I'm going to check my clearences, but could this be bent rod maybe or would i be able to hear that. will thicker oil bump the compression up a little, oil is old. greendog Posted June 14, 2010 Author Report Posted June 14, 2010 ha inlet is like .10 cold think i found the problem Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 0.1mm? 4thou instead of 10thou... that wouldn't help at all! How's it running now? 150psi would be worn a little but fine to me. Did you check all 4 compressions and how were the other tappets? Quote
Felix Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Adjust your valve clearances (for all cyls) first, before you compression test it. Should compression test all cyls. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Yeah adjust ALL of the tappets to 8 thou inlet and 12 thou ex (HOT..... or cold clearnaces are in the FAQ) and re-test all of the cylinders again. 150psi sounds worn but ok as altezzaclub said but that numbers pretty useless without some other cylinders to compare it too. :P Quote
