OK so just say i wanted to get roof racks for the rolla.

and... i dare say that model specific ones are hard to come by.

so how do you go about finding the right type of rack? what do you look for mounting wise? or do they all kinda mount the same way?

anyone that has a rolla with racks i would like to see piccies of how they mount to the car.

i would also assume that racks for newer cars won't fit up? as the guttering etc. etc. is all different?

cheer, luc

Gutter mounts are pretty much universal. The height of the feet can vary, as can the length of the bars... But you can adjust all of that and trim down the bars if they're too long.

What type of roof racks are you after? The traditional style ones with the bar, or sports style ones like on my AE92? I have a feeling you could get away with the traditional ones, especially when you adjust to the right size, give them a good coat of paint and they will be sweet :jamie:

Call your local rhino racks dealer and see if they have something that will work for your car bud, i wouldn't mind a set of roof racks, i reckon a set with the flat rectangle bars would look overrated onto an older car man, either that or throw a post up in the wanted to buy section, i'm sure if you keep bumping it eventually somebody wrecking a whole car with roof racks will pm you :jamie:

hmm ok that sounds good so ebay can be a goer as well plenty of secondhand ones on there i was just curious about the mounting side of things.

i was gonna go the tow bar + bike rack idea but i reckon roof racks for the bmx's will be better and suit the era of the car a bit better too.

just have to be careful that you don't get a set of roof racks that make a phenominal noise at 100km/h....

dad has some aftermarket ones on his hilux, and anything over 80km/h and the noise is incredible.

gota take them off and only put them on when he wants to actually put anything on them.

his are just basic square section design, where as some of these newer ones are shaped like an aerofoil....though not sure 2 aerofoils on the roof would suit a ke70:P
