19914afc Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 (edited) the old one was old, rusty and just generally f@$ked. Just ask handiman he saw the old one. Also would not be the gauge or sender as when my manifold heat plate thing was leaking coolant and there was barely any coolant left the gauge started to go up. Gspec Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 Checked when I flushed my cooling system and mine had a thermostat in it and still would only sit 1/4 of the way up the guage, and I put a new one in and still does the same thing. Same. Between a 1/4 and 1/3 is normal for these things to my knowledge. If you have a cooling issue the temp will climb. Quote
19914afc Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 (edited) another reason why T-18's are awesome :blinks: Edit: Also check your engine fan as mine is a viscus one and it is stuffed cause it just stays on all the time. Edited August 28, 2010 by 19914afc Quote
SLW42 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 i hade a 3tc in my ta22 and it always stayed cool it never moved up off the quarter way mark, the only time it moved was when there was a leak somewhere in the cooling system but dude put a thermostat back into it, it will help your heater. You do need one unless you have thermo's or something Quote
t18drifts Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 well i i put one in and its all good in hood :D turns out there was one in there it was jamed open though so it wasnt closing ect ect but I'm proud of myself cuz all by myself i changed the plugs and oil plus oil filter and the thermo all by myslef with no help and my car still runs but better it realy loves new plugs :D Quote
