  1. For sale 1981 Stanza GX Sedan. 4 spd manual. This car was originaly bought new by my mates great auntie in Stawell and was her daily untill she passed away a few years ago. In then sat in my mates fathers backyard with the intention of giving it his son once he was old enough to drive however he thought Stanza were'nt "hot" enough. So they swapped it for my Torana. I have properly repaired any rust, zinc treated the body then Por 15'ed it before giving it some Limelight green paint. It has brand-new wind screen and a brand-new alluminium radiator. The interior is in great granny spec condition. All lights are in great condition as is the grill. The engine has only seen country miles. The box is still very solid. real deal granny driven car. Its starts first go like a charm Its needs tyres, baily channels (rear), bumper returns (its has some but they look old), air filter snorkel. some attention to a noise in the rear (possibley bearing) and some finishiong touches. This car is not a hop in and go. Although all the major work has been done there sre still a few things to do. $800. Will trade for Valiant/Chrsyler related stuff. Sean :0411 497 484 Call or text (sometime I can't answer my phone) What it looks likes as of today. What it looked like when we got her Interior Zinc phosphate treatment Por15 coating Fresh paint
  2. Same. Between a 1/4 and 1/3 is normal for these things to my knowledge. If you have a cooling issue the temp will climb.
  3. Ever noticed how each brand of car has their own smell? I have a Datsun 200B SSS coupe in the garage, original 1 lady owner, it still has its clean old Datsun smell which, I must say, I quite enjoy.
  4. IMO the best way to get easy ponies is to help the engine flow ie, Carby upgrade (weber 32/36, Holley 350) GOOD headers (Doug Thorley, Schoenfeld... what the American are using on their drag cars) Exhuast: get a big pipe to suit turbo then put a small restrictor on it. This will save you needing to buy another exhuast when you go turbo. Head work: such as port n polish, valves, DO NOT shave the head if later you want to go turbo! Also electyronic dizzy is a good idea. Reliable spark = more effecient engine operation. The boss kit you're after is a T17 i believe. Genereally they will have multiple mount paterns so it should take most sports steering wheels. Can't help you too much with fancy mags but if you want cheaper ones to get away from the factory chees cutters there are heaps of 2nd hand old school rims out there. Datsun/Nissan rims and Mistubishi rims will fit, Different off set though.
  5. That is easily one of the worst flare jobs EVER! Its bodgy and it looks crap. If you were to flare your gaurds this way, get a nicer shape and DO NOT use cilicon!! :(
  6. white sandshoe: Sold al my bumpers except the bent ones I have on the pumkin. taz rx: hell yeah. http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o299/ca...;current=18.flv :( 19914afc: I get the mexican thing, I sometimes can't be assed writting "peurto rican" either.
  7. Good form with your choice of car and top form sticking with the 3TC engine, so very under rated here. White sandshoe has some good advice and seems to know the score. I'd be interested to hear some more idea/options on a good 3TC build up. :lolcry:
  8. Don't quote me on this but I believe the T18 and the AE86 share the same platform so if I had to guess i would say yes. Can't be done (unless you cut and shut). T18 gaurds are longer and slightly different shape.
  9. Technically they didn't. Only K's can come out in KE's. :laff: But yes they got the KE70 shape 94 door and 2 dorr) with T series engines.
  10. Cheers mate. The bonnet is not only 2 pak, its ment to be satin. As for getting past rego (in Vic) patchy paint will pass as long as the car is no more than 4 colours and there is no visable rust... However, some paint shops (like the Body Shop) will make up a custom pressure pack of any colour for around $20, they should also be able to colour match too. Just take in your filler panel. :)
  11. I hope they re-sell it after they've done with it. Being mindfull it is a Corolla ie will run under water, so unless they drive it directly into a tree, it should do alright. :)
  12. Are you using all the panels from the T18? as the series 2 T18''s have a different bonnet. Also I hope you didn't pay too much for this machine... its missing 2 doors :) Also, save your money on window rubbers, uri your window in. It wont leak after some time, and it helps prevent rust. Ouch! Don't be pusprised when you're not invited to my next birthday party :D
  13. Cheers Paul. Its a bit of last minute rush job to get it on the road as I am sick of driving the Torana. The pumpkin is no where near 100%. It needs a better paint job all over. The boot lid was done with a pressure pack just to get it registered (too cold to 2 pak at the moment) and the rest of the paint could be better. Plus I have though up a new colour scheme. The bonnet is just a patch n paint job because good T18 bonnets are hard to find... though as it turns out apparrently KE70 bonnets are the same. Anyways, she's now registered so I'm looking forwards to doing more work on her, such as rims, suspention, exhaust, carby... etc.. Plus I'm now chasing a KE70 (again) to replace the Torana. :)
  14. Rusty shell, painted shell, finished car... I wish all restoration were that easy. :) The new ride looks potential. More pics, more info please.
  15. Every Rolla I get seems to have a glove box full of service books and the original "Vehicle warrenty and service record" book. I keep these coz I love knowing a cars history but there is another good use for them.... Yesterday the pumpkin went to get registered. The potential issue was the engine had been changed and Vicroads don't always have record of VIN's before 1989. As it turns out they didn't have record of the pumpkin's vin. Anyways, long story short: I had the original Vehicle warrenty and service record book with me, it not only made it easier for me register the car but they used it to get record of the cars details and now, if I sell the car, it will be easy for the next owner to register the car... added sales point. Keep those books people. :)
