tojo2 Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 time to get a suspension upgrade for my ke30 what do you guys suggest or what have you put in your rollas? i need something smooth and steady :) pics would also be good thanks. Whiteline 5,25kg front springs + swaybar , Kyb gas shocks front and rear, nolathane poly bushes all around. Check all balljoints for wear and renew where nessecary. Get wheel angles adjusted and put on some decent tires. Makes it firm but not harsh. Just a suggestion, works for me. Quote
HayzTawil Posted October 4, 2010 Author Report Posted October 4, 2010 what about struts do i have to change them? where can i get a swaybar from?? Quote
Evan G Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 do your research on the forum, have a budget, get your hands dirty 1 Quote
silverra23 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 This question is answered multiple times as Evan alluded to... search is your friend. How much money do you want to spend. This will dictate the answer. But a good budget upgrade would be kings fronts, what ever shocks you can afford that fit - Monroe/KYB/Pedders, reset rear leaves and sway bar from the late 55's. Quote
HayzTawil Posted October 5, 2010 Author Report Posted October 5, 2010 yeah but i don't like the bumpiness i want to spend not more than 1500 for the whole upgrage but thats including front struts and bigger discs also. Quote
ke70dave Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 what do you mean bumpiness? upgraded suspension = keeping the car on the road better and knowing what the car is doing under all circumstances. and if the road is bumpy....then the ride quality will also be bumpy. if you want a smooth ride and good handling, its all in the shock absorbers. with springs to suit. bilstein are the way to go, but you will pay alot for them (~1000 for a set) you get what you pay for;) Quote
silverra23 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Do the Corona Xt130/RT132 strut conversion for your bigger brakes, and that gives you better strut insert options too. Good springs, good shocks front and rear and you will be set... and have spent all your moneys. Quote
ke70dave Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 hey you have a ke30, head over to the forsale section and see mr reddwarf, he has a pair of struts for sale with springs and bilstein shocks alreay in them. i think he wants 300$. postage may be a bit expensive, but even if its $100, 400$ is pretty cheap for good shocks and springs.
