September 14, 200521 yr comment_70527 Just a quick question would there be any advantage to removing my muffler from my standard 3k powered ke20?? this is for a khanacross event so street legal does not matter. I was thinking about cutting the muffler off the car and welding flanges on to the exhaust and the muffler so i could just replace it with an exhaust tip with a foot of pipe on it instead of a muffler.. September 14, 200521 yr comment_70530 probably not. i would guess it'll just make it loud and (if anything) reduce backpressure, so you'll lose a crapload of torque, making your car slow, and gain probably 1hp @ 6000rpm give it a go and prove us wrong tho, flanges are cheap :y: Report
September 14, 200521 yr comment_70545 Not really, and I'd be pretty sure that if you read the supp regs, it'd say something about the car is not allowed to be "excessively loud", what ever that maybe. Report
September 14, 200521 yr comment_70560 Sometimes they include a decible reading, but I've never seen any officials with a sound meter... Report
September 14, 200521 yr comment_70569 haha it's 90db @ 50M at grafton. pretty sure i would have creamed that one, and there were louder cars than me there Report
September 14, 200521 yr comment_70579 Most events its up to the officials. If they think its to loud you will be asked to fix it or piss off. Instead of removing the muffler completely, cut an end off remove the baffles and reweld the end back on. Can then weld a larger diameter tail pipe on for a tougher look (3" droopy is tops) Report
September 14, 200521 yr comment_70584 3" droopy is tops ahh, a man to my own heart droopys are the shit :y: dislaimer: at the risk of hijacking this into another "post pics of your droopy thread", which we have done before, i will refrain from providing phat pictures, but you can find them on my fotki if you look Report

September 16, 200521 yr comment_71026 Hopefully you don't have to reverse too much in a khanacross...? Report
