rollered Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 don't think this has been covered, i have semi searched for info but havent found anything solid like the 4age swaps, but have been searching for other options for the ke70 engine swap, and had heard of using a 2g? or 2tg (and 3g or 3tg???) anyone seen these done? do these engine have respectable outputs?.. just want sumthing better than the ole' 4k :D as long as the price range is alright, and its a crossflow type engine, I'm sure it can have more potential than the 4k.. would like to know everyones opinions... holla! rollered Posted September 16, 2005 Author Report Posted September 16, 2005 eh eh eh ok thanks guys ill have a good look around nick, what would it cost for a bluetop 4age, and also the 4afe? and with the holla thing.. eh i dunno ey thanks guys HOLLA!!!!! Quote
Felix Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 only problem with 4afe, is that it is like a 20v, in the fact that the dizzy hangs off the back of the head. a 2T or 3T would be better than a 4k. find a T18 for its running gear. Quote
wyldephyre Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 Hola is Spanish for 'Hello', so I don't know what it's doing at the bottom of your post :D Quote

Speak for yourself :D I'd take a 4k anyday! Thanks Troy Quote
Felix Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 (edited) i have a pretty warm 5k in a little ke15. it is faster than my old worked 4k, which would eat the majority of v6 commodores and AU and earlier 6 falcons. the 5k is good, but there is a need for more power. it gets 8L/100kays on average too. a ke70 is a good 2 and a half adult passengers heavier than a ke15. i just don't understand why you wouldn't make use of the extra engine bay room in a ke70. with mine i have space constraints and need to start cutting up shit to make a larger engine fit, you guys with ke70s don't. 3Ts have way more potential than a K series. really they are just an uprighted oversized hemi headed progression, not to mention cross flow. i have heard of 7, 8, and 9 sec full house 3Ts with forced induction. never a K engine anywhere near as quick. 4ks are good for economy, but not much else. sure you can make them nifty, but power to weight is the limiting factor. a lighter car helps, if you want to have fun with them. guess it comes down to what you consider is fast enough. mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 actually, nick that was 3t in the te7X, 2t in the te3X, te51 Quote
Felix Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 T18's had 3T engines. the early celicas had the 2Ts Quote
rollered Posted September 16, 2005 Author Report Posted September 16, 2005 well i have semi made my mind up, as the 2t, and 3t engines have pretty good power outputs, and can also handle a little bit of boost-if i decide to turbo.. i have read about making a "hybrid", using 2t with 3t internals etc so I'm trying to source a 2tgeu, as i have also read that a stock engine with 2 inch zorst and nice set of extractors can make rufly about 124HP, which is i think is about 92Kw. thats quite respectable. well better than the ole' 4k, which is pushing like 44hp. so does anyone know what 2ts sell for? and what G/B fits up---is it a T series?? thanks guys AUF WEDERSEN!(german) Quote
Dan Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 Can you get conversion kits for fitting a 4AGE/2T (mounts, bellhousing) and how much would they be worth? 2T's are found in TA22's aren't they? Quote
Felix Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 2T's are found in TA22's aren't they? yes and what G/B fits up---is it a T series?? yes probably the best way would to be buy a complete car with a rooted body, and raid the driveline. AFAIK the T18s, are supposed to have a very similar floorpan to an AE86. so should be very similar to an AE71/KE70. the engine xmember "may" be very similar, and be a boltin? you would have to research it more for yourself. Quote
rollered Posted September 17, 2005 Author Report Posted September 17, 2005 yeh 2T's did come in TA22's but they were the non-efi version. they were juts the 2tg.. although I'm looking for a 2tgeu, which is efi and better.. ive looked around and second hand u can buy 2tgeu, with loom, ecu and T50 G/b for bout 600.. thats not bad Felix: you are saying that t18's (a celica??) have similar floorpan to a ae86, and in turn ae86's have similar floorpan to ke70's etc. would it be right then to say that a T18 crossmember wuld fit into a ke70? or be an almost fit with very little modding? schweeet! irokin Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 Skip the EFI. Very old technology and carbys are better than it was. That is unless your gonna go aftermarket and ditch 90% of the old EFI system. And besides, who can resist the sound of quad side drafts. Ive got a dead 2T block (blocks ok...piston isnt) if your interested...and local... Quote
Hokey Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 if you can find a T18 crossmember then that will bolt straight up to your car and the 3t/2t/2tg will bolt right up to it. check out toymods because there is alot of info for these engines. don't forget to search Cheers Quote
