ive read this a few times now but yea just getting a specific answer.

 

ive got a 5k block with a 4k head

the 5k block has got oversized pistons and a re ground mild street cam,

the question is, would it be easier to convert to solids using the idea that felix did or use hydros with the 4k rocker gear thats in the head already,

 

This shit ain't as easy as people here make out. You need to know what 5k engine you have, what engines your heads are from, what type of lifter your cam is ground to suit and what parts you have on hand. If you can give us that information we can help you out.

 

D shaped piston 5k or O shaped piston 5k?

 

dished piston 4k head or flat top piston 4k head?

 

solid lifters or hydraulic lifters currently?

 

Do you have the original 5k head, rocker assembly and pushrods?

it's a d dished 5k

it's a 4k head with alot if dish in the chamber not sure what type of motor its off.

you'll need to find out what lifters your cam is made to suite. there's a difference.

I called the cam place and they said it was machined for solid litters so I'm guessing I will have to do what Felix did with his 5k

if you've got the 5k solids li'F'ters, 4k head and rocker gear than all you need is the 3k pushrods... good luck.

And the 202 lifters are heaps heavy and need something lighter

Could some one please tell where do you find 5K soild lifters?

Which year and model toyota did they come in?

If you do manage to find the 3f landcruiser solids or the 5k solids then you will also need to locate a set of 5k solid pushrods(ball and bucket). They are a different length to the 4k ones. If you then choose to run with the 202 lifters you will need the a12 pushrods. hard to find but not as hard as 5k solid pushrods....

5k solid pushrods (if using head with lugs under 1 and 4 sparkplugs) are the same as those from a dished piston 4k, coupled with 3f/5k solid lifters.
