Check plugs. Also could maybe be a dead coil.

it doesnt do it all the time thou..

Did you get the flywheel machined before you put the new clutch in?

nah i didnt taz.. still had meat on it

What's pedi??

The misfire- at idle? Under slight power/cruise? Under solid power accelerating? What's it like cold compared to hot? on over-run? Several times on a trip or once a day?

Is there still free-play in the clutch cable? So long as the thrust bearing comes right off the pressure plate then you're up for pulling the box off again I'm afraid. Did you replace the pressure plate and clutch plate, or is the pressure plate worn out??

pedi is petrol..

when it coughs and splutters it just cuts out, no matter how I'm driving.. sometimes it runs really well thou..

and yes, brand new pressure plate and clutch plate. and not much free play in the cable

Does it cough and splutter after it's heated up a bit?

Can you tell us more about when it's doing what it's doing.

...... which you just mated with a scored old flywheel. You should always machine the flywheel when fitting a new clutch kit.

i never drive it cold.. so its always warm when i drive it. it just does it out of the blue whenever it wants.. like the fuel cuts out or something but it doesnt

your carb maybe?

this is sounding suspiciously like the same issues I had with my coil. Losing power and spark, coughing and spluttering. Intermittent problem, huge difference one day to the next, sometimes all the way through the rev range, sometimes only under heavy load.

try another coil.

leads are fair cooked.. i checked them at work today and the coil is fair old.. so ill replace them and get back to yas...

  • 2 weeks later...
