Taz_Rx Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Did you get the flywheel machined before you put the new clutch in? Quote
philbey Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Check plugs. Also could maybe be a dead coil. Quote
morgzz Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 Check plugs. Also could maybe be a dead coil. it doesnt do it all the time thou.. Quote
morgzz Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 Did you get the flywheel machined before you put the new clutch in? nah i didnt taz.. still had meat on it Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) What's pedi?? The misfire- at idle? Under slight power/cruise? Under solid power accelerating? What's it like cold compared to hot? on over-run? Several times on a trip or once a day? Is there still free-play in the clutch cable? So long as the thrust bearing comes right off the pressure plate then you're up for pulling the box off again I'm afraid. Did you replace the pressure plate and clutch plate, or is the pressure plate worn out?? Edited November 22, 2010 by altezzaclub Quote

jono1986 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Does it cough and splutter after it's heated up a bit? Can you tell us more about when it's doing what it's doing. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 and yes, brand new pressure plate and clutch plate. and not much free play in the cable ...... which you just mated with a scored old flywheel. You should always machine the flywheel when fitting a new clutch kit. Quote
morgzz Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 i never drive it cold.. so its always warm when i drive it. it just does it out of the blue whenever it wants.. like the fuel cuts out or something but it doesnt Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 How old are your sprak plug and coil leads? Quote
philbey Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 this is sounding suspiciously like the same issues I had with my coil. Losing power and spark, coughing and spluttering. Intermittent problem, huge difference one day to the next, sometimes all the way through the rev range, sometimes only under heavy load. try another coil. Quote
morgzz Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 leads are fair cooked.. i checked them at work today and the coil is fair old.. so ill replace them and get back to yas... philbey , your spot on in describing the problem.. howd you fix it?? Quote
Hazzard Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 may also be the dwell angle and points. i had the same problem with my car, but then i bought new points and set the dwell angle and its fine now.. Quote
