jaygore Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I have been searching the forums and have been unable to find the answers to my question I am looking at buying some 12v t10 LED's to make my dash a bit brighter, but is 12v to powerful?? I am unsure of electrics :S Or is there something else that needs to be done to successfully convert to LED's? Sorry if there is already a thread, but I have done a search and tried to find the answers, but there doesnt seem to be a thread on this:S Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I would assume they already have a built in resistor and should be a direct swap.. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Pretty sure you can get ones that are straight plug in made for it from Jaycar. Quote
jaygore Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 thats what I though, just didnt want to risk it... Maybe someone else can confirm this Quote
jaygore Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 Pretty sure you can get ones that are straight plug in made for it from Jaycar. yea I went upto jaycar here in ballarat and they had nothing in the way of T10's :S Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Pretty sure it would be all sweet seeming as they are a replacement item Quote
jaygore Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 (edited) sweet I'm on jaycars webstie and iv noticed that you can get 2 different kinds http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=ZD0390&keywords=t10&form=KEYWORD http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=ZD0394&keywords=t10&form=KEYWORD http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=ZD0495&keywords=t10&form=KEYWORD Which one would be best to go for, they are both 12v Edited January 3, 2011 by jaygore Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Mabey the second one is brighter, I'm not sure, Could always ask if they can let you try them both out in the store to see? Quote
jaygore Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 Yea well I think I may go for the 3rd one as it is a 360 degree light which should give me a decent light, but I don't think i need 15 of them lol Quote
ke70dave Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) how sweet are those last ones! not worth the 25bucks each though. there are some on ebay that are wwaaayyy cheaper than that. btw you realise those last ones, its 15LED's on each 'bulb'. so in order to do your whole dash, your going to need quite a few of them, maybe 6? 6x$25 = tooo much. the 2nd ones look like the go, with the 4 bulbs btw led's may not work all that great in you dash, they are an intense light, as oposed to a diffused (correct word?) light of an ordinary bulb. you may end up with 'splotches' of light in your dash, as oposed to an even amount of light. but hey at like 2bucks each, give it a go! i didnt even know jaycar sold these, i need a replacement for the LED's in the parkers of the s15....will definitaly pick up a few this arvo... jaygore Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 Yea i know, there is no way in hell I would pay 25 each, it will get quite costly! ebay is the way to go hahaha, or I will go for the second option. If it is a bit blotchy it wont matter, just as long as i can get my dash a bit brighter, as mine is super dull Quote
jaygore Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 So apparently Jaycar ballarat does not stick the T10's so ebay it is :D Quote
