wicked666 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Hi everyone, my name is Chris. I haven't really posted much on these forums or anything. I was just after some info on the AE112R turbo corolla. What are the common issues with this model of car, i have done some research on here and found some issues regard exhaust manifold and ECU, can someone shed more light on these issues? What is the max amount of boost you can run with the standard ECU and injectors ETC? I am really after as much info as i can get.. Thanks in advanced... Quote
thatdude Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Where i work we service one and the exhaust manifold seems to be a problem cracking and the same with the gear box. Although the gear box could be the driver. Edited February 19, 2011 by thatdude Quote
Trev Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 ECU and manifold is all you have to worry about. Quote
Trev Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) whats up with the ecu? They are just crap, a lot have been fixed/replaced before they even seen 150k and they are not a cheap ecu, you could do an aftermarket ecu, new manifold and still have money left over for other mods or just put that money into buying another turbo computer. wicked666 Posted February 21, 2011 Author Report Posted February 21, 2011 I see. Are the gearbox's pretty strong? If I where to get one, i was planning on doing a CAI, coilovers, struts braces, sway bars, Exhaust (including dump pipe), Slotted rotors all round, rims, put the boost up and then it should be sweet to be a street/ track car.. Sam_Q Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 they are faily rare though yes? Would it be cheaper and faster to get a single cam ae82 and mod it instead? Quote
