Hi guys recently had a full respray on my ke70 and know have to put everything back on. Just wondering what people reconmended for sealing up rear tail lights as original rubbers aren't in the best shape?

 

Also what do people use to stick back on the rubber stripping on the side of there cars?

I went to Clarke Rubber and got 10mm by 10mm foam with a sticky side for tail lights. They may even sell proper seals.

i am in the same boat. I need new tail light seals as mine leak and they arnt avaliable genuine

Went down to clarke rubber and bought thin rubber/foam material and seemed to work fine and we've had a fairly big down pour in the last few days.

I take that back, after inspection last night there is water slightly leaking through so I think silicone is in need around the gaps/leaks.

Attach the foam to the car and to the lights so they press together...

Most of that foam you can buy is porous.. it isn't a going to be a good seal

 

It also stays wet for a long time, promoting a really good rusting situation.

 

I am not sure what the solution is, but I would be worried about using stick on foam for the above reasons.

I used a non porous plastic based foam strip I found on a building site in the end. Worked a treat.

Ok so now I'm taking the foam off coz I don't want my fresh paint rusting. Black silicone and pack it on sounds good, or I do have sikaflex but that stuff is the wow factor!
