Hey guys, looking to rebuild a 5K. it'll probly have like twin down drafts, cam, shaved head etc etc.. but i wouldnt have a clue where to find all the gaskets and bearings? I'm looking for a sorta high performance gasket kit if anyone makes them? could someone help point me in the right direction please?

Get it all through your engine builder, he will supply it at a good price.

 

If for some reason you're not using an engine builder, then any auto store will hook you up with a VRS kit for a 5K.

will the VRS hold up ok though? because i had a VRS headgasket on my current 4k and it had a shaved head, and it only lasted a couple of months..

I've always been a fan of factory head gaskets, that's dealing with Nissans and Toyota. I don't mind aftermarket for all the other gaskets and seals, so I'll buy a cheaper full gasket set and just a factory head gasket.

 

...and factory oil filters too!

Agree with the above with oil filters. Had a cheap one that we had to remove with a hammer and chisel!
