Twincam16seca Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Is it possible to use the ae71 t50 flywheel on a 4agze? or am i only able use the 4age flywheel? which is most commonly used/best to use as i have read the BT 20v is lighter, but i'm wondering if the bolt pattern is the same? Trev Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 No, the AE71 flywheel is 6 bolt, all the 4age bolt patterns are the same, if you wanna use the ae71 clutch and pressure plate then get a flywheel from an ae82/ae86. Quote
Sam_Q Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 6 vs 8 bolts and won't fit in bellhousing: http://s-86.com/s-flywheels.html Quote
Trev Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 I should have asked as but I was expecting this to be going into a RWD, what is it going into. And Sam, there is no overall size difference in the flywheel, it is the pressure plate that doesn't fit. Quote

This is why there isn't enough physical room for the ZE flywheel in the T50 bellhousing. Quote
Twincam16seca Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 Thanks guys, i'm planning on putting the engine into my ae71, i only just got my manual conversion (awaiting the tail shaft), so i thought i'd stick with the T50 for a while and hopefully i won't brake it as i don't plan on clutch kickin/drifting or dragging it down the quarter mile.
