check if its a postive or negative wire when the igntion is on.

i think i had the same problem as you, i connect it and it wouldnt start so i removed it and tapped it up (don't DO THIS AS YET)

Looks like a coil and the wire from the ballast resistor. It shoulld be hooked up to the negative side of the coil. It could be that you have your wires mixed up.

Ballast resistor on the negative side?

No.

the thing where the wire comes out of is a little tube thing with two wires coming out of it.

1 is a black one that goes into the loom, and this one is yellow that goes?????

theres another rectangle thing next to it that has a wire going to the positive side of coil. the other side of rectangle box doesnt have any wire hooked up to it. i don't think its supposed to cos the nut is old and hasnt been tampered with.

will try to get a bigger pic up tomorrow..

cheers

If there is one wire to the positive side of the coil and that runs to a white rectangle box with 2 terminals (ballast resistor) and there is only a wire on one side then you have found your problem.

yeah my bad.

the negative side of the coil needs to be grounded. the positive should run from the power/ignition and the ballast resistor there also.
