Heath. Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 hey all! (I'm only planing not actually starting this yet) i saw a picture of a ke with a 3sgeT in it. and got me thinkin what sort of stuff i would need to get the engine into mine? i found out that the engine was from a toyota Hiace.... but that was just a mate tellin me that so idk what year or anything. if any one could give me a link or if they actually what i would need to do this would be fantastic! (sorry for any bad spelling) Quote
Heath. Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 P.S I have a 1984 ke70 with a stock 4K in it. 5 speed manual. Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Nothing money can't solve! Get a post-1998 3SGE as an Altezza half-cut. That way you get all the horrendously complicated wiring loombs and the 6-speed gearbox. It will slot in fairly easiily as it is already RWD and seveal people have done it. Although why you want 210bhp and a smoothly howling 8000rpm in a KE70 I don't know.... If you want something cheaper go for an older MR2 or Celica, but expect plenty of hassles when you try to turn them around. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_S_engine Quote

GJM85 Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 any others??? not to sure about the sr would that be same sorta work lload as the 3sge? Nothing will fall straight in there except for a K motor. Anything you choose to put in there will require modifications to you suspension, brakes, diff, transmission, engine mounts etc... except for a k motor. Baby steps first buddy. Wait till you get off your P's. Quote

altezzaclub Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 What's the 4K in there like? Good compression?? Bearings good? You might as well hit it with a cam, some carburation and an extractor system. At least it will be fun to drive while you plan a transplant in a couple of years. Quote
