ive noticed a few members here with chrome vents on their ke30/55's and was just wondering do i have to get them chrome dipped or is there some where i can buy them?

Pretty sure the early ones were chrome.

 

Ive never found chrome ones though in my travels

the plastic known as ABS (acyrylonitrile-butadene-styrene or something silly) can be chrome plated in a similar fashion to metal. Most modern car badges are made of this.

 

I doubt that KE30's had ABS vents, i suspect most people use chrome plate, or there is an actual metal item on early ones.

ahk thanks for that ! so they CAN be chrome plated ? i was nearly considering going down the "chrome paint" route as i seen a can of the stuff in repco, is the stuff any good but?

The Chrome paint isn't the greatest stuff. It doesn't really come out as you would expect. You could give it a go but every time I have used it I was pretty let down by it.

hmmm .. yea i might not give it a go .. might have to head down to the panel beaters and ask if they can "chrome paint" them for me.. cause that stuff wasnt too bad.

The early ke30 vents are metal and yes they are a, almost, direct bolt on to a ke55 (the bolt holes in the '55 are a bigger diameter then the '30).
