scottiriver Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Heyy all, I have a quick question, when I let the clutch out in my ke70, it makes a groan. it is a high pitch noise. I've only heard it in first when taking off at 1500 revs. it is an exceedy heavy duty clutch on a 5speed k50 and stock 4k engine. is this noise normal or has somthing been broken? cheers Scott Quote
Taz_Rx Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Probably just a worn input shaft bearing in the gearbox Quote
scottiriver Posted August 7, 2011 Author Report Posted August 7, 2011 I sure its not the clutch? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Bit hard to say without hearing it, could be. Does it sound like a bearing or something rubbing? Did you machine the flywheel when you put the exedy in? Quote
love ke70 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 maybe its just the clutch pedal groaning on its pivot point... Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 I'm with Andy- lube the pedal pivot first. Pull the cable out, lube that and while it hangs vertical with oil dripping into it get some grease into the clutch pedal pivot. If its not one of those two then its gearbox out time... Clutch lever arm pivot, thrust bearing, maybe even spigot bearing depending on what you replaced when you fitted the new clutch. Finally input shaft if nothing else.. Quote
