Hi all

Recently i pulled down a 4k engine that had dished pistons and what looks like a bigport head.

My question is can i buy new dished pistons?

in the end I'm sure you will spend time at your local parts supplier with the piston in your hand.

Lugs under 1 & 4 plug holes?

Yeah thats the one, can i put the head onto a 3k block without the dished pistons or would there be a problem?

You would end up with pretty high compression putting a 4K-U head on a 3K.

 

Alternativly, you could put the 4K-U pistons into the 3K, use the 3K head and you'd have yourself a low comp motor for boost.

High compression is what i need as it is going to become a speedway race engine with tighe 493C cam.
