Rolla__Boy Posted January 15, 2006 Author Report Posted January 15, 2006 Ok so I started the corolla yesterday with the bonnet open...and my mate noticed the hook for pulling the engine out that is mounted with the exhaust manifold was just swinging around in the breeze....So I turn it off and have a close look, and every single manifold bolt was loose, and they weren't when I put the SC on...so I can only assume the SC has been forcing the manifold off the head....Better keep an eye on this :P Quote
Ke50 Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 haha top fuel dragster style! blow it clean of the engine! Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 13, 2006 Author Report Posted February 13, 2006 Ok, so the exhaust hasn't come off the head again yet :D yay I am thinking of getting a larger, better flowing exhaust that is as quiet as they can make it, I am wondering though if the standard headers will be big enough? Anyone know?? Then I need to get the boot organised. I am kinda sick of the wheels that are on it, so I might look for something else. It is getting lifted back up again soon too, I decided to actually make it handle, so I will be doing shocks, springs, bushes etc, I will be posting pics as I go. I think it will wait til next summer to get painted, as I am running out of heat. The good old 4K is running out of puff too :P So it's good I have my spare engine sitting waiting "wishing" hehe Oh and I raced an R33 GTSt the other night, he beat me, but not by a massive amount...so I am on the warpath to hunt down some extra power from the next 4K, and see if I can beat him next time hehehehehe Quote
thomo Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 that little thing smoked my BA the other week, i wonder if the tax man could see a 2 door turbo sports job as a work ute? call me if you need a hand with the spanners Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 Thanks dude. The weather is getting colder, and the demon is getting faster hehe :P Quote
Perthke55 Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 sounding nice dude, have u figured out a way to get the bolts to stay in place longer?maybe get a titanium, exhaust of the stock size?an strip the backseats out for weight reduction if you havent already, then see how you fare against the skyline. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 18, 2006 Author Report Posted February 18, 2006 I don't know what bolts you mean? The exhaust is far too small, so I will just get a larger one, and it will be fine. I don't want weight reduction, I would rather get more power. This is a dead standard mostly rooted smoke blowing 4K, and it did that well against the skyline...I'm happy enough ;) Quote
Tiger Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 [hint] 2 words... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and ;) did someone fart! ;) There's your cryptic clue to extra horses :S Quote
CD_rollaman Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 ummmm giggle gas ;) took me a few seconds to work that one out. Quote
Perthke55 Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 maybe you could set that up for your newer engine. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 19, 2006 Author Report Posted February 19, 2006 Nope...Just not interested in it at this stage Quote
roids70 Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 hey man just wondering what sort of throttlebody u are using cause I'm buying a sc14 supercharger for my 3T and i need something like u have set up! but mine is being set up after the supercharger as a blow through system or would it be better as a draw through system? Cheers Sean Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 24, 2006 Author Report Posted February 24, 2006 Mine is carbied (ewww) no EFI for me yet, so I am not using a TB. I think a blow through setup is always going to be better, mine is draw through, and as a result, I can't run an intercooler etc. I will most likely be making a whole new setup for my 5K, which will either be blow through, or EFI setup as blow though.
